Extended School Year

field tripOur Extended School Year (ESY) Summer Therapeutic Program is designed to support children with emotional, behavioral and/or autistic support needs who qualify for ESY services and who would benefit from educational/therapeutic programming.  The goal of this program is for students to maintain previously acquired or learned academic, social/behavioral, communication, or other skills identified within their Individualized Education Program (IEP).

ESY eligibility is determined by each student’s IEP team in accordance with state and federal regulations.

No later than February 28 – IEP meetings held to determine ESY eligibility and ESY program assignment

No Later than March 31 – Student’s Local Education Agency (LEA) issues a Notice of Recommended Educational Placement (NOREP) to the student’s parents/guardians

April, May – Pace School communicates ESY information to students, parents/guardians

Transportation:   Provided by home school district

Breakfast and Lunch: Provided by Summer Food Service Program sponsored by the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank.  If a child prefers, he/she may pack a lunch that can be refrigerated on site.

Dress Code:  Shorts, t-shirts and tennis shoes.  NO FLIP FLOPS OR SANDALS.
Weather permitting, daily activities will be outside.  Please dress accordingly.
